Cessnock / Newcastle Bike Weekend
While it started on a rainy note, our weekend with Richard and Susanna turned out to be a full cycling success. We headed to Cessnock in the rainy Hunter Valley, but decided to drive rather than ride towards Toronto, spent the night at Morisset, from where we continued on to Belmont South, our camp.
Starting from Belmont, we rode towards Newcastle and joined a good bicycle path at Whitebridge station (pictured on the right). Sorry, the videos are too wobbly to be of any value… still working with Daniel on our tripod attachment.
Other tour notes: We did a total of about 100km, had only about 2 cars honk at us for weird reasons, found some good coffee shops and managed to increase our speed record to 79.4 km/h - on a stretch of Floraville Road from Floraville towards Pacific Highway (see this Profile). Good stuff.
This weekend’s plans: Canberra.
